WhyCards can be embedded in any tool, but our favorite app is probably Notion! Let me show you how it works right here in Notion.

Notion is a great wiki and document editor; many teams use it as their command center to stay on top of everything they do. It’s common for teams to put data and charts into Notion to support decisions they’re trying to make—so we set out to design the best experience for embedding charts and data into Notion.

Here’s an example of how it looks:

The chart is interactive, so try hovering over the lines in the chart, and you’ll see a helpful tooltip. Pretty nice! 😎

Above is an annotated bar chart, where I’ve added a note to the part of the chart that I want my audience to pay attention to. Whywhywhy makes it super easy to annotate your charts to add your narrative.

You can also see more details about the chart. If you click the ℹ icon in the chart above, you’ll see the source for the card, including the SQL query. It’s great to help you understand what assumptions a chart was built upon.

Our favorite feature is that embeds will update automatically whenever the card is updated. If you need to pull new data a week after you create an embed, everything updates—no more manual work to update charts in your docs.

With WhyCards in Notion, it’s effortless to add data to your docs and update it when needed. It’s super useful for creating reports and dashboards right inside Notion.
